Victorian Rose Creations
Dear ladies and gentlemen,

I am proud to acknowledge that I am a "dyed in the wool" romantic. I take delight in the enduring bounties of the past, for roses and lace and beautiful, charming things are my passion. You may call me old fashioned - but if I had my "druthers", I'd choose the satin and lace! Today's world is so hectic and busy that it's hard to not get so caught up in the daily grind that we forget to see the beauty around us, and we lose the joy in life. It would be a difficult adjustment to step back in time without the conveniences of modern life, but it was a gentler, kinder era in many ways. That spirit of a simpler time, when taking pride in making a home and truly caring for husband and children, community and God, is what I want to refresh in your memories and help you create in your own life with my creations.

As to how I came to love the Victorian era, let me tell you about my childhood growing up on a farm in southern Georgia. To this day, I am an avid reader and my favorite books have always been those set in days long ago. I grew up on Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" series, L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables" books, George MacDonald's fairy tales, and Louisa May Alcott's stories. I have been fascinated with historical dress and life in the olden days for as long as I can remember. My mother taught me to sew and quilt when I was four or five. When I was a teenager, I had a wonderful opportunity for several years to volunteer at a living history museum in Tifton, Georgia. The Agrirama is a group of farms and other buildings from the nineteenth century. As a tour guide, I learned much about life with no electricity and the warmth of real fireplaces and the wonderful flavors and joys of cooking over a fireplace and wood stove. Yes, there were even outhouses, but we didn't have to be quite that authentic! My love for and knowledge of the era of Queen Victoria's reign has grown over the years and I always knew that, next to being a wife and mother, what I wanted to do was try to keep alive the romance, peacefulness, and beauty of long ago. That is the mission and heart of this website and business, and I hope to please someone of kindred spirit with my designs.

For the rest, I am married to the man of my dreams, Tim, and the Lord is blessing us with a little one in the near future. We live in upstate South Carolina. As a proper lady of old would have put it, I am "aflutter" that you have found my website and I am looking forward to making your acquaintance!

Victorian regards, Andrea aka Lady Rose
